Camps

Abundant Summers

At Abundant Summers, we create a camp experience that gives children ages 3-13 a chance to explore & investigate their individual and collective interests — and just be kids! With a curriculum grounded in the values of Abundant Beginnings, we are a JOYFUL, inclusive, and liberatory community. Come join us in creating skits, plant identification hikes, making protest art, climbing trees, and much more! Click here for more info.

Camp Freedom

So, you’re beginning to understand what the cis-white-hetero-patriarchy is and how to resist it, and you also know that with great freedom comes great responsibility… Now, it's time for you to practice how you will live the Afrofuturist dream of true self determination: being carefree Black, Indigenous, & other kids of color. As the designers of your destiny, you must create the community you want to be in. Where will we go? What will we do? How will we make decisions? We will equip you and your Camp Freedom teammates with a budget, a bus and a few adult co-conspirators to drive and make sure no one gets hurt. The rules: no one gets arrested & no screens. You in?

2024 Dates:

Session 1: July 15-19

Session 2: July 22-26

Session 3: August 12-16

Session 4: August 19-23

Ages: 6-12

Art of the Wild

Art of the Wild 2024

Join us as we build community, learn survival skills, make sustainable art, and practice being good stewards of the land!

Our days will follow a rhythm of morning mindfulness, hiking/movements, and snacks followed by the day's offerings. We will make salves, work with fire, create maps and shelters, and explore what we can use around us to heal, feed, shelter and build our community. During lunch, we will check in on our communal progress and have another moment of rest and mindfulness. In the afternoon, campers can finish projects from the morning, climb trees, or whatever else their WILD hearts are desiring. We will close out together in a gratitude circle.

Session 1 & 2: Heal & Nourish (W & I) at the Berkeley Marina

May 27-31

Session 3 & 4: Shelter & Wayfind (L & D) at Alvarado Park, Richmond

Our School Break Camps are exactly that: a break from school, a time for children to play and be the creators of their world! With the exception of especially unsafe weather, we spend the day outside at a fabulous local park.
