About the program

The Forest Freedom School Preschool class is a great foundation for children who are new to school or have already been in a school setting.  Our mixed age classrooms allows older students to serve as models and guides for our younger students as they learn and become more comfortable in their class environment. Our days are spent exploring and appreciating our outdoor environment, learning about social justice and empowerment through songs, chants, and stories, and taking time to gather with our school community for quiet moments of reflection and gratitude.

Curricular Structure

Kindergarten

Our kinder children are now nestled in the preschool program. This will allow them to grow as leaders in the community and allow them to keep growing their social emotional skills. After lunch our kindergarten students will have technical skills workshop and story workshop to build and continue their math, literacy and other skills we need to be free people and agents of change.

Toileting

Please note that students do not need to be toilet trained to join the program! As an inclusive program, we know that each child develops on their own timeline and will support them in their path to toileting independence!
