Art of the Wild
As with all Abundant Beginnings programs and camps we are trauma-informed, inclusive of kids at all the intersections, and support kids in building an inclusive community that celebrates neurodiversity, queer families, gender fabulousness, and race.
As an act of inclusion we accept campers who are still in diapers or are still on a toileting learning journey.
Camp is a full day! We understand 9-3:00 may be too long for some campers, we are happy to support mid-day pickups.
Mama Shayna (they/she) of Abundant Beginnings and Babi Atha (they/he) of Liberated Kids are joining forces to bring you Art of the Wild, an Earth Wisdom Youth Liberation Camp in Alvarado Park & the Berkeley Marina. We will build community, learn survival skills, make sustainable art, practice being good stewards of the land, and PLAY of course! Camp is curated for kids ages 4-9, older and younger siblings are welcome.
Our days will follow a rhythm of morning mindfulness, hiking/movements, and snacks followed by the day's offerings. We will make salves, work with fire, create maps and shelters, and explore what we can use around us to heal, feed, shelter and build our community. During lunch, we will check in on our communal progress and have another moment of rest and mindfulness. In the afternoon, campers can finish projects from the morning, climb trees, or whatever else their WILD hearts are desiring. We will close out together in a gratitude circle.
